Successful internship
Fabio Meier, a student of mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich, completed a 6-month internship at NOVAGEAR. In the 2015 racing season, Mr. Meier was responsible for the design of the gearboxes and the organization of the production of all machined parts of the racing car “flüela”.
At NOVAGEAR, Mr. Meier once again impressively demonstrated its creative energy and determination, and developed a gearbox series for a high-speed motor application with five ranges of gear ratio. This challenging task included the design of the five gearbox types, their optimization in terms of space and efficiency, and the derivation of scaling laws.
With his outstanding work, Mr. Meier created a tool which allows the customer to determine volume, weight and efficiency of the gearbox for any gear ratio within seconds. The cooperation with Mr. Meier was extremely enriching, both professionally and personally. We thank him for his commitment and wish him success for the continuation of his studies.
